My first experience at Ojo Caliente was in December 2014, sometime between Christmas and the New Year. I can tell you: it was FREEZING — I literally had ice on my feet while walking from one pool to another and my towel and robe even froze while they were laying on one of the poolside chairs! Lol While definitely a memorable experience, it is NOT one that I plan to repeat.
Even though the weather was chilly the next few times I went to the Spa, my heart (and my feet) slowly warmed to Ojo Caliente. Now I’m even a Club Ojo member! (NM residents save 20% off the daily rate of $20 to use the Spa.)
I love going to Ojo Caliente now — pool hopping, people watching, hanging out in the hammocks, and staring at the deep blue sky for a few hours. And don’t forget the mud pool! Soaking in the hot springs supposedly has healing benefits; I all know is it makes for a very relaxing day. Add a massage, and voilà! Clear the schedule cuz I just turned into putty…
I am giving Ojo Caliente 4 Stars because they don’t serve drinks poolside and the food options are very limited, especially from 2-5pm when the Artesian Restaurant is closed.
