My friend and I decided to stop in Madrid as we were taking a scenic drive on the Turquoise Trail. It was a pretty small town; I think the population is about 300 people. Madrid is most well-known for going from a booming coal mining town in the 1800s to a ghost town sometime in the 1900s, and is now a modern day artist’s community.
There were a TON of Harley people in town the day we visited and it was very difficult for us to find parking. I hear public restrooms are just as difficult to come by. In the end, we decided not to stay very long in Madrid and I haven’t had any desire to try going back since.
